Green residential properties need support to become commonplace

Posted under General by Jermaine

A green residential property is a dream every potential buyer wishes to convert into reality. But the development of green property in the current financial crises is an extremely difficult proposition. Lot of help is needed to make green residential properties a commonplace in the UK, the experts suggest.

The managing director of the British Eco Energy, Andrew Moore, claims that green energy sources were attracting keen interest from potential UK house buyers and property investors. To support his argument, Andrew Moore points out at increased visibility of wind turbines as a technology. He believes that as a part of green residential property, solar hot-water systems could be installed in every home in the UK.

While elaborating on need for extending help, Andrew Moore points out that installation of wind turbines would necessitate planning permission and assistance to people in installing equipment.

According to Andrew Moore’s observations, many people were keenly interested in making use of wind turbines, but only a small percentage of people actually go ahead with installation.

Ratings of properties’ energy performance certificate could be improved by the landlords and their letting agents if they take initiative in making their portfolio greener.

It is shocking to note that 56% of UK residents, who were responding to a survey conducted by the Energy Saving Trust, felt that their estate agents had very little knowledge about energy-efficiency performance.
